2023: Service Presentation

MegaFon has combined a smartphone and a smartwatch with one number. The operator announced this on September 15, 2023.

The operator is the first in Russia to introduce technology that will allow autonomous use of smartwatches without reference to a smartphone. This will help the accessory to receive and make calls, send messages, use mobile Internet - even if the phone is not nearby or discharged. The launch of such a service began in five regions of the country.

The technology allows you to connect a smartwatch to the main number on a smartphone and use it as part of a single tariff and account.

Now, in order not to lose the functionality of smartwatches, you do not need to create an additional number for them or synchronize the gadget with a smartphone via Bluetooth. The accessory will work even when the phone is discharged or not at hand

Thanks to this service, MegaFon subscribers can use gadgets autonomously from each other, while maintaining all important functions.

Using devices when different numbers are quite inconvenient on a smartphone and smartwatch: this complicates daily communications. It is important for us that subscribers are as comfortable as possible to use mobile services on any device, so we have developed this service. It allows you to associate a smartphone and smartwatch with an eSIM with one number. Now you can enjoy walking, running, swimming and stay in touch, even if the phone stayed at home or ran out, "said Igor Glebov, director of MegaFon's development department.

At the first stage of the project, the service is available to subscribers in Tula, Penza, Cheboksary, Orel and Saratov, and will gradually begin to appear in other regions of the country.
