2023: Development of Text Readability Assessment Functionality

The developers of the platform of websites of the authorities of the Republic of Bashkortostan have implemented the functionality of assessing the readability of text. Now, with the help of it, employees of government agencies responsible for content filling of sites can determine the convenience of reading and the level of perception of materials of their audience. Generally, improving the readability of a text is associated with simplifying its structure and language. This became known on September 15, 2023.

This revision of the site platform has been implemented and is intended for employees of republican authorities and municipalities who publish daily information materials, news and other messages in their field of activity. An assessment of the perception of the text by readers will give an understanding: a complex or simple text for perception, which audience he is more interested in, what age it is.

The peculiarity of the function is that the system recognizes the readability of the text and immediately gives it a verdict of comprehensibility - it is difficult to read, quite difficult to read, the text is clear, easy to read and more, - said Christina Viskontas, a representative of the website developer of state bodies of the Republic of Belarus.

As for the assessment of the level of readability of the text, there are several methods, such as the Flash index, Lindgren index, etc. They are based on an analysis of the length of sentences, the complexity of words and other text parameters and are now built into the website service^[1].
