Customers: IR ASE (earlier Atomenergoproekt of NIAEP)

Nizhny Novgorod; Power

Contractors: OTR
Product: Bentley MicroStation

Project date:
Project's budget: $1 500 000 руб.
Number of licenses: 250

The Atomenergoproekt company (AEP) which is engaged in design of nuclear power stations signed the contract with the American CAD developer Bentley Systems, Tuomo Parjanen, the head of Bentley in Russia, the CIS and the Baltic States told CNews.

"AEP purchased from us about 200 licenses for the MicroStation CAD platform and 50 licenses for the system of joint work of engineering project teams ProjectWise", - Tuomo Paryanen said. Deliveries were performed through the Russian company OTR.

This contract became the largest for local office of the American vendor. Its cost, according to Paryanen, was about $1.5 million – about a third of annual revenues of representation.

However, purchase of licenses does not mean readiness of Atomenergoproekt for long-term cooperation with Bentley yet. According to Lashkevich Yulia, the director of the department of work with nuclear sector of IBS, AEP bought Bentley software during licensing of software, but it is only the single transaction.

At the same time the partnership agreement the Rosatom state corporation, parent for AEP, by words Lashkevich, signed not with Bentley, and with the competing vendor - other American company Intergraph which partner status IBS have. Let's note that IBS works with<Росатомом> on creation of conceptual documents on informatization of concern.

But, as Tuomo Paryanen speaks, Bentley also discusses the global agreement with Rosatom. If it is signed, then the state corporation will be able to obtain unlimited number of licenses. Paryanen expects to sign the document in 2011.

In the world at Bentley signed 180 such global agreements, in Russia – only two: three-year contracts with TyumenNIIgiprogaz and Giprotyumenneftegaz. But their volume is not so considerable: Paryanen estimates it at hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
