Kaspersky Lab announced cooperation increase with "System Operator of the Unified Energy System of Russia" (SO UES) and delivery to him the second batch of software solutions Kaspersky Work Space Security. Implementation and delivery were executed by Elvis-Plus system integrator — the partner of Kaspersky Lab.

"After selection from the structure of RAO UES we carried out the complex analysis of an information security system of the company and found out that our branches use the anti-virus products of different vendors which got in inheritance from AO-energo" — Kondratenko Andrey, the head of department of information security of SO UES told. According to him, the heterogeneity of the applied software solutions involved lack of uniform control of activities for ensuring anti-virus security, increase in risk of infection of internal network and decrease in level of security of a corporate information system of SO UES. As a result the company management made the decision on need of creation of a centralized system of antivirus protection.

"In 2005 we carried out the analysis of offers of vendors and stopped the choice on the solution Kaspersky Work Space Security which, according to us, conforms to the stated requirements and provides the greatest effectiveness and reliability of detection of virus threats — Kondratenko continued. — Besides, for increase in level of protection against spam in 2007 we purchased 5 thousand licenses of the product Kaspersky Anti-Spam for Linux".

Due to the increase in functions of the system operator and, as a result, emergence in the company of new jobs there was a need of increase in number of licenses for software solutions Kaspersky Work Space Security, says Kaspersky Lab.

"Cooperation of Kaspersky Lab and system operator has an old story. The first batch of software solutions Kaspersky Work Space Security — 5 thousand licenses — was delivered to the company in 2005 — Zemkov Sergey, the managing director of Kaspersky Lab in Russia and the countries of Transcaucasia told. — In 2010 Kaspersky Lab delivered JSC SO UES in addition 3 thousand licenses for Kaspersky Work Space Security. Besides, the system of antivirus protection of the company was completely transferred to modern versions of anti-virus products of Kaspersky Lab — Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0 and 'Kaspersky's antivirus for Windows Workstations 6.0'. It allowed to expand functionality and to increase system performance of antivirus protection of JSC SO UES".

According to Kaspersky Lab, Kaspersky Work Space Security is an optimal solution for the centralized protection of workstations, including notebooks in corporate network and beyond its limits from all types of modern online threats: viruses, spywares, hacker attacks and spam. Controlling all entering and outgoing data streams on the computer (e-mail, Internet traffic and network interactions), the product ensures information security of workers where they were — in office or a business trip. In turn, Kaspersky Anti-Spam for Linux protects users of the corporate mail systems and public mail services from spam.
