2022: How Magnit is working to create a functional and convenient portal

At Magnit, the alteration of an employee's personal account led to a large-scale redesign and update of the portal implemented on the Websoft HCM platform. The initiators of the project face ambitious tasks - to improve the functionality of the service in order to make it more convenient and understandable for users.

What they faced

Users experience difficulties with navigation on the portal and with its use: technical support and training organizers received several thousand calls per month.

Make the portal convenient and intuitive for users.

Project scale

The portal is aimed at all employees of the company - 300,000 people, and is available to users from any device that has access to. Internet

What is taught

  • Strictly regulated by the state training in technologies related to safety and health at work.
  • Introductory training and other topics in accordance with internal corporate requirements.

How courses are created

The company uses various types of courses: classic slides, simulators, longrides, videos, presentations, pdf-memos and others. About 80% of the training content in Magnit is done by themselves, some are purchased, some are outsourced.

How does it work

New Personal Account

Its update initiated all further redesign of the portal. The new personal account includes information about the user himself and the statistics of his training.

My Training section

The section includes everything related to employee training: courses, tests, activities, training programs, surveys, and so on. The functionality of the recommended training is also implemented here - the system prompts which courses, tests and surveys are recommended to be taken by an employee within his position.

My Team section

Thanks to integration with 1C and the corporate personnel accounting system, employee data is "pulled up" to the portal: full name, position, division, mobile phone, email. Through Websoft HCM, a photo of an employee is uploaded to the section. Here, the manager can view brief statistics on the training of his subordinates, more detailed statistics on their passage of the adaptation program and current electronic courses.

Training catalogue

A page on the portal is under development, where all self-learning materials will be collected. This is a completely custom solution, for the implementation of which the company has created a system for categorizing materials:

  • by type (e-courses, video courses, slide courses, etc.),
  • by training format,
  • thematic tagging,
  • full-text and header searches,
  • by description blocks,
  • in business areas - for retail, logistics, etc.

Results and results

  • The portal has become more understandable and customer-oriented.
  • The number of users' requests to technical support and to training organizers has decreased several times.
  • The knowledge of the company is stored in the portal and organized using the training catalog.
  • Increased awareness of users about corporate training.
