2023: Accounting Automation

The press service of the Constant company on September 26, 2023 announced an automation project at the Porkhovsky creamery. The company has a 46-year history and assortment, which includes 25 types of varietal cheeses. The output of finished products reaches 20 tons in day.

Previously, eMPA accounting was carried out completely manually in the personal account of the Mercury GIS based on the printing plates provided by the production. Considering the wide range and high production volumes, this led to a large number of human errors when transferring information from paper media to your personal account. There were also situations of incompleteness and significant delays in the data provided from production.

To solve these problems, a system was needed that would allow you to receive release data directly from the production accounting unit. As well as a mechanism for reconciling the remains of products produced and reflected in the Mercury GIS at different stages of production. To ensure the possibility of comparing production and veterinary accounting data, it was necessary to organize the process of reflecting production redistributions in the Mercury GIS.

Project objectives:

  • Automate the suppression of incoming eMPAs and the extract of production eMPAs
  • Ensure that product and semi-finished product residues in production accounting are consistent with those in Mercury GIS
  • Reduce the number of errors in the design of eMPA

To achieve the set goals, an automated information system was introduced based on an industry software solution: ERP4FOOD a module integration with GIS Mercury.

Project results:

  • Fully automated (does not require operator connection), registration of eMPA for pasteurization, write-off of dairy raw materials for release.
  • In the semi-automatic mode, the following are performed: suppression of incoming eMPA for milk, extract of production eMPA for finished products (documents from production records are used for the extract)
  • Semi-automatic (by pressing a button by the operator) functionality of semi-finished products production with automatic selection of production batches, quantity of manufactured and decommissioned products is implemented.
  • A reporting unit on the comparison of written-off and manufactured products according to production accounting data and records in the warehouse product log was developed.
  • A single AWS has been set up to design and extinguish eMPA at all stages of the production cycle.

Implementation effects:

  • Reduction of time for eMPA execution - 90%
  • Number of retrained specialists - 5 people
  • 90% Error Reduction
