2023: Product Announcement
Belgorod State University (BelSU) In created a computer program for early personalized diagnostics in osteoporosis coronavirus patients. COVID-19 The press service of the university was told about this in October 2023.
The automated system proposed by us will allow faster processing of densitometry data [a method for diagnosing the density and probability of bone tissue fractures], taking into account risk factors for osteoporosis and increasing the effectiveness of diagnosing the disease, which will, firstly, lead to a decrease in the burden on the doctor, and secondly, will speed up decision-making time and further reduce the cost of rehabilitation after fractures. As a result, the risks of disability will decrease with the timely prescription of appropriate therapy. This will lead to a decrease in the number of people in need of joint replacement, - said a member of the working group, graduate student of BelSU Vladislav Dubrov. |
According to the developers, the system can be useful both for public and private medical institutions, as well as for sanatorium-resort and rehabilitation centers. The development was awarded a bronze medal and an honorary diploma of the Archimedes International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies.
Osteoporosis - a disease associated with a decrease in bone density - is one of the manifestations of postcoid syndrome. Studies conducted by the Department of Faculty Therapy of the Medical Institute of the National Research University of BelSU on the project of the Priority-2030 program showed that the incidence of osteoporosis after covid is associated not only with age factor, hypodynamics and vitamin D deficiency, but also with the use of glucocorticosteroids in the treatment of glucocorticosteroids, as well as with untimely laboratory diagnostics.[1]
