The product Zimbra Desktop 2.0 expands possibilities of collective work on the basis of the Software as Service model, giving to end users a unique opportunity of interaction. Thanks to Zimbra Desktop 2.0 clients can use flexibly configured centralized (from one point) offline - access to the e-mails, contact lists, the calendar and control functions documents. Zimbra Desktop 2.0 equally steadily works at all platforms (Windows, Mac and Linux) and provides uniform offline - the solution for business with different operating systems of end users.
Besides, Zimbra Desktop 2.0 brings the world of the SaaS-applications to the new level of controllability and integration, allowing users and administrators to load the modules Zimlets (integrated into Zimbra Collaboration Suite for release of the user from routine transactions and simplification of work with large volumes of information) directly into working clients. Use of Zimlets is a possibility of flexible consolidation of tools for joint work from Zimbra with solutions SaaS of the third parties. With their help it will be possible to create the new "mixed" user interfaces in environments of e-mail clients and joint work.
The new product Social Zimlet as a part of Desktop 2.0 imports updates from Twitter, Facebook, Digg and other social networks. For downloading well to more than 100 modules Zimlet which can be easily added to the client software program. Among them there are translators, the CRM system, service of photos, maps and online management of meetings.
