The analytical center TAdviser conducted a research among Chief information officers of the largest Russian companies regarding popularity of deliveries of software among them according to the SaaS model (software as service). It became clear that a third of respondents is not interested in use of this model at all.
During the survey of TAdviser conducted in September, 2010 it became clear that the SaaS model has low penetration in developed the IT expert of the Russian business due to the lack of interesting offers from providers.
Among the respondents (33%) who participated in a research a third recognized that will hardly begin to use this model in 2011 as does not see its obvious advantages. Only 10% noted that they will precisely use this model, and another 10% already mastered it in practice.
It is interesting that 50% at the same time recognized that they could come to use of the SaaS model in 2011 if solution providers made advantageous offers. It is obvious that in the Russian market the range of the solutions advanced on model software as service is still not too big, as complicates the choice of potentially interesting solutions for business.
As the Chief information officer of Baltika company Hermann Epstein commented, his company just does not see obvious advantages of SaaS of model and will hardly begin to use it next year. According to him, similar solutions can be useful other plan: or to divisions of the companies with the low level of automation for the solution of local tasks, or to the small companies with insufficient resources for full automation, but at the same time needing local automation of the high level for separate functions.
"The large companies do not need similar services", - Epstein considers. It believes that it is even harmful to large business of SaaS as it increases costs for integration of information flows and complicates business process integration, the connecting several departments.
