2023: Summary of Server Virtualization with VMmanager
Company, "a Roslavl Brake Systems "(RAAZ) Russian manufacturer of pneumatic braking equipment, has implemented a deployment project server virtualizations using a domestic solution. VMmanager This was announced on October 19, 2023 by the company. ISPsystem (Exosoft)
Before the start of the project, the IT infrastructure of the enterprise was implemented on physical equipment, which did not meet the requirements of fault tolerance and performance, and also did not allow scaling resources to meet the growing needs of the business.
The goal of the project was to deploy a robust, flexible and productive virtual infrastructure, taking into account the available IT resources and plans for further scaling and development.
As part of the project, the following tasks were completed: the choice of an IT infrastructure virtualization solution, testing of the selected platform, installing and configuring virtualization tools, reducing the number and downtime of information systems to improve business continuity, Ensure that the company's applications, services, and operating systems are as functional and productive as possible as well as providing the customer with a single solution for managing the virtual environment of the entire company, including remote offices.
Server virtualization has greatly simplified infrastructure and reduced the number of physical servers, streamlined business processes, and reduced IT asset administration costs.
The platform implementation project was implemented as soon as possible, the customer required the resources of one employee. After the implementation of the platform, enterprise services such as a domain controller (primary and backup), a file server for storing data, a SQL server for integrating and working with 1C:ERP, a 1C server itself, and three fault-tolerant terminal servers were deployed on two servers running VMmanager to ensure the simultaneous operation of more than 100 active users. In addition, an access control and control system was deployed separately in the IT infrastructure.
{{quote 'For us, the project confirmed the effectiveness of the VMmanager platform: the entire implementation process - from testing to launch into production - took only a few months without downtime and attracting additional resources. The solution optimized the costs of managing the customer's infrastructure and demonstrated flexible opportunities for further development of the project, "said Natalya Tsareva, ISPsystem Product Director. }}
The project to deploy server virtualization with the help of the domestic VMmanager solution allowed Roslavl Brake Systems to ensure the reliability, flexibility and performance of its IT infrastructure, as well as reduce the cost of its support and administration.
A year has passed - the flight is normal. At first, we were worried that we could not do without technical support - they helped us so actively at the first stage. Therefore, they initially took a subscription, not a permanent license. But in a year, they applied only a few times. By the end of 2023, we plan to expand the license: we will add three to four more servers and DSS. This is exactly the case when the domestic one is not worse, but in some ways better than foreign analogues, - shared Mikhail Zayko, head of the information technology department of Roslavl Brake Systems LLC. |
