Customers: Sportmaster

Moscow; Trade

Contractors: Corus Consulting
Product: Extended Enterprise Management

Project date: 2008/09  - 2010/07

The Sportmaster company owning one of the leading Russian retail networks of sports goods starts system implementation of Extended Enterprise Management from Manhattan Associates company.

The company manages network of 225 own shops and 360 outlets belonging to the companies franchisees. In recent years, as it is reported, supply chains with which it is necessary to deal the trading company, considerably became complicated. It receives about 70-80% of the goods sold by the company from suppliers from Asia. In Moscow the company locates the distribution center with a total area of 70 thousand sq.m, besides there are several regional warehouses.

The purpose of implementation is improvement of interaction with direct suppliers, increase in data transparency about stocks on all supply chain, acceleration of processes of merchandising and optimization of use of warehouse spaces.

On the data which are available for TAdviser, the company signed the direct agreement on implementation with the system developer, and the company from Manhattan Associates will work at the project. Access to a new system is supposed to be provided by means of the web interface that will allow to use it in all remote warehouses and outlets.

In our country since 2005 the Corus Consulting company is engaged in implementation of the Manhattan Associates systems. Alexander Rakhmanov, the area director Logistics of Corus Consulting company, noted that in Russia automation of warehouse activity, including integration with ERP systems (for producers — with their own, and for logistic operators — with the systems of clients) and the equipment, used for reduction of a share of manual work is conducted generally. As an exception he gave an example of Sportmaster company which built information exchange in the company and with supplier companies. The goods are visible in a system from the order to the producer to shop. Each specific logistic place is traced, using labels each specific transaction is conducted, and goods acceptance in a warehouse is limited to reading of the code about pallets, its weighing on control scales and placement, but not search of everything that there lies. It takes not 30 minutes, but 30 seconds that increases efficiency of transactions in a warehouse.
