The State Scientific and Technical Library of Russia is connected to the blockchain for book rights management

State Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia (GPNTB of Russia) joined the state blockchain public infrastructure of the РЦИС.РФ, which provides intellectual property management. According to him, in accordance with the concluded agreement, the RCIS will help the library deploy a network node on its equipment and ensure the connection of this node to the blockchain infrastructure of intellectual property management. The infrastructure can be involved in a variety of digital services related to intellectual rights, the exchange of information between private and public information systems, and the collection of objective statistics. Blockchain guarantees the safety and invariability of data and allows you to significantly reduce the financial and organizational costs of administering catalogs, concluding transactions, and checking counterparties. The general director of the GPNTB, Alexander Karaush, called joining the РЦИС.РФ a natural step towards the digital transformation of the library.

We consistently work on the digitization of funds and provide users with the full range of services required when working with domestic and foreign catalogs of scientific and technical materials. Thanks to the participation in the РЦИС.РФ, more than 8 million storage units of our library will be involved in the circulation of intellectual rights in the digital environment, and will be in demand in modern technological realities, he said.

RCIS is the operator of the public-state blockchain infrastructure for intellectual rights management - a РЦИС.РФ network that unites more than 30 public and private participants, including:,,,,, Rospatent Russian Author's Society Intellectual Rights Court Rosstandart Roskosmos Fund,,, and Skolkovo RVCVEB Innovation leading domestic IT companies.^[1]
