The Tambov city transport is controlled by the information transport system based on GLONASS

On October 25, 2010 M2M Telematics Tambov, MAU "Passenger traffic" and Apparel Association signed the agreement on interaction within project implementation Social GLONASS. The agreement provides creation of information environment, available to disabled people of the city, about the movement of low-floor trolleybuses in real time by means of the Internet and the mobile phone. Information service obtains data on the movement of trolleybuses from the information transport system of Tambov where they arrive from the terminals of the GLONASS navigation system installed on city public transport.

The equipment of GLONASS equips 14 low-floor trolleybuses and with the help of an online service of http://city.tambov.gov.ru/index.php?id=831 physically disabled people can trace the exact time of their arrival on a stop. In MAU "Passenger traffic" the uniform dispatching service which controls movement not only low-floor trolleybuses, but also passenger transport of the city is created. In dispatching service 9 jobs are created. In addition to GLONASS equipment, transport is equipped with the disturbing button thanks to which the driver can contact the manager, a set of a voice communication and the LSD display at any time. The manager can control the speed of movement of transport on the city and observance by drivers of schedules. Also within the Social GLONASS project several vehicles of the Center of medicine of Accidents of Tambov were equipped.

Tambov is one of the few Russian cities where the movement of city transport is controlled by the complex information transport system based on GLONASS, both information on location and arrival time of public transport on stops in real time is submitted on the Google Maps Internet resources and www.doroga.tv.

The Social GLONASS project is directed to increase in level of social security of citizens of Russia due to increased security and improvement of quality of life of the least protected groups of citizens (disabled persons, pensioners, pupils of orphanages and shelters) due to use of the innovative GLONASS satellite technologies, in particular, on transport.

Social GLONASS already the Novgorod and Ryazan regions and Altai Krai where several tens of vehicles of psychoneurological nursing homes, the rehabilitation centers, services of social taxi at the moment are equipped became project participants. Works on equipment of vehicles as the GLONASS equipment are continued.
