2024: Inclusion in the register of Russian software

The two-factor authentication system - "BIT Authenticator" from "First Bit" was included on October 28, 2024 in the register of Russian software (No. 24551).

Two-factor authentication is an easy way to reduce the dependence of security of any corporate systems on the combination of "login - password," increase the security of sensitive data and protect against hacking.

"BIT Authenticator" is a two-factor authentication system for sites, web applications, Linux environment, Windows environment, VPN and many other solutions. The service is easily embedded in the network and helps protect accounts from unauthorized access.

After the implementation of the "BIT Authenticator" solution, one simple step will be added to the login process: after entering the password, the user confirms his attempt to log in by clicking a button in the mobile application or chat bot in Telegram. Thus, in order to get into a secure IT loop, attackers need not only to get the employee's password, but also to have full access to his smartphone.

Setting up and starting the system takes only a few hours. Optional integration with human resources systems helps to provide an additional layer of security and improve the ease of managing employee access.

The service "BIT. Authenticator" is distributed according to a flexible model. Also, two-factor authentication helps protect against phishing and brute force attacks, avoid potential financial and reputational losses, and increase customer trust. In addition, the use of the solution from the First Bit helps to comply with state requirements for information security, which is especially important for companies in regulated industries.

2023: Announcement of "BIT. Authenticator"

On November 9, 2023, First Bit announced the release of the on-premium two-factor authentication system BIT Authenticator, which allows businesses to protect their data by organizing simple and secure authorization of employees or clients to corporate systems.

"BIT Authenticator"

According to the company, 2022 Russian companies faced cyber threats 65% year, and in the first quarter of the 2023, the number of cyber attacks increased 2 times. 4% of all incidents were situations in which attackers gained access to confidential data by stealing the account of one of the employees. Of these cases could be avoided if companies used two-factor authentication.

To protect personal data, two-factor authentication has long become the standard. Email, bank applications, government services - all these services either require it to be used every time you log in, or offer it as an option to secure your account.

At the same time, this mechanism is used much less often to control user access to corporate systems. It turns out that personal information is more secure than business data.

According to Rostelecom, attackers are less and less able to steal someone's work account: over the year, the share of such cyber attacks decreased from 18% to 4%. This is evidence that the "two-factor" is finally gaining popularity in the business environment. This means that companies that do not yet use it not only risk their data, but also miss out on a competitive advantage. We created BIT. An authenticator for our own purposes - something simple, convenient and reliable was needed.

told Maxim Gorin, head of the IT department of the central Moscow office of the IT integrator "First Bit" spoke about trends in this direction

The system is embedded on top of the main method rather than authentications replacing it. Each login attempt, the user will have to confirm via a different communication channel - by pressing the button in - Telegramboat or, mobile application which is already available Google Play in and will soon appear in. App Store

Just one additional step that will protect data from theft or encryption. Even by picking up the correct password, the attacker will not pass control.
