Suspect in the case of embezzlement from the Research Institute of Eye Diseases sent to the pre-trial detention center

We are talking about state contracts for the supply of a laser for selective trabeculoplasty worth about 11.2 million rubles and a retinal optical coherence tomography system worth 18.5 million rubles. The companies paid an advance of 15.2 million rubles to start the execution of the contract - the purchase was paid for at the expense of the national project "Healthcare."

Dronov is charged with fraud on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The suspect pleaded guilty in full. He will be in jail until at least January 8, 2024. If convicted, the businessman faces up to 10 years in prison.

According to the SPARK-Interfax system, NordVestStroy LLC was registered in St. Petersburg in 2008. In 2022, the company, in addition to the Helmholtz National Medical Research Center, entered into contracts with the Moscow Department of Health for the supply of medical products, with the FMBA of Russia for the supply of cars, and also repaired the building of the dental clinic No. 30 in St. Petersburg^[1].
