2023: More than 50 participants joined the Association of Theater Museums of Russia

At the initiative of the Bakhrushinsky Theater Museum, the Association of Theater Museums was established in 2023. The Bakhrushinsky Museum serves as an integrator, helping institutions with collections of theatrical art to integrate into the all-Russian and world museum and theater space. This work includes constant support for museums in terms of preservation, research into the domestic theater heritage and the development of the museum and theater community.

On November 15, 2023, during the strategic session of the All-Russian project "Museum Routes of Russia," organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Director General of the Bakhrushinsky Theater Museum Kristina Trubinova spoke about the work of the Association in 2023 and plans to develop the association.

"The geography of the project is extensive, it includes all 89 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Presenting the project of the Association of Theater Museums in 2022, we expressed the hope that 25 organizations would join it by the end of the year. Today we have already received more than 50 applications for membership from directors of theaters and other organizations from the Republic of Sakha, Perm Territory, Saratov, Tula, Ivanovo, Kursk regions. Among the members of the association are the Moscow Drama Theater named after M.N. Ermolova, the Roman Viktyuk Theater, the Russian State Library of Arts, the St. Petersburg Academic Theater named after Lensovet, the Literary and Memorial Museum F.M. Dostoevsky, the House of V. Meyerhold (Penza), Donetsk State Academic Puppet Theater, Lugansk Theater on the Defense. Among the foreign participants is the State Academic Russian Theater for Children and Youth named after N. Sats of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "said Kristina Trubinova.

In 2023, as part of the work of the Association, the Bakhrushinsky Museum began to create modern exhibitions in theater museums that reflect their history. In fact, this is a program for creating regional representative offices where scientific and methodological activities will be carried out to preserve and popularize the domestic theater heritage.

On the occasion of the 235th anniversary of the birth of M.S. Shchepkin, an exposition of the museum will open in the Kursk Drama Theater. The 100th anniversary of the poet Rasul Gamzatov will be dedicated to the exposition of the Museum of the History of Theaters of Dagestan. The general image of the theater of the Republic will be created from the polyphony of 12 national theaters.

The development strategy of the Association is related to the expansion of areas of activity and partnership. An important project of the Association will be the celebration of significant anniversary dates - the 150th anniversary of Vsevolod Meyerhold and the 130th anniversary of the Bakhrushinsky Museum.
