Skyeng's online school has cut spending on data analytics with Yandex Cloud services by 10%. The company built an analytical repository and automated information processing from more than 300 sources. With the help of the solution, marketing and business analysts began to test hypotheses faster, which courses are in demand among users and how it is more convenient for them to make purchases. Over the year, the company increased sales by 26%, and the number of customers increased by 12%. Yandex.Cloud (Yandex.Cloud) announced this on November 22, 2023.

Edtech-company Skyeng has been operating for 11 years and during this time held 33 million online classes for adults and children. Skyeng has its own ecosystem of services, including a web platform for conducting interactive Smartroom lessons, as well as several mobile applications for iOS and Android and browser extensions for learning foreign languages. Skyeng's business relies on a large amount of data on lessons taken, the work of teachers, the demand for language courses and products. In 2022, the company decided to strengthen the analytical direction: it increased the staff of the data office and changed the analytical data warehouse.

Data Warehouse (DWH) is built on the Yandex Cloud data platform services, which provide work with data in the cloud at all stages - from collecting and storing information to visualizing it. Skyeng uses the managed Yandex Managed Service for Greenplum and Yandex Managed Service for ClickHouse databases and the Yandex DataLens business intelligence service for this. This approach allows you to centrally store and process data and build various graphs and dashboards: teacher ratings, student progress trackers, conduct A/B tests and collect analytics of marketing and other activities.
