2023: Product Announcement
On November 29, 2023, Vivos Therapeutics introduced the CARE series oral devices designed to treat severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). These products are an alternative to neurostimulation implants and IPAP therapy - artificial ventilation of the lungs with constant positive pressure.
It is noted that OSA is a common pathology associated with a sharp reduction or complete cessation of breathing in sleep. The disease is characterized by a temporary decline in the soft tissues of the upper respiratory tract, which leads to their complete closure. OSA increases the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, obesity, chronic respiratory diseases, etc.
CARE products (Complete Airway Repositioning and/or Expansion) are designed for adult patients aged 18 and over. Vivos Therapeutics says improper development of the jaws and oral cavity can cause the tongue to be more prone to falling into the back of the throat, causing the airways to collapse. This is especially common during sleep: the number of episodes can be in the tens, which negatively affects the quality of night rest and the patient's well-being.
During use, the CARE series devices gradually change the position of the hard and soft tissues that form the respiratory tract, which allows you to optimize air flow. By altering and expanding the oral cavity, these oral products allow you to breathe more deeply and smoothly. Vivos Therapeutics states that unlike other non-surgical therapies for OSA that require intervention every night for a lifetime, the average treatment time with CARE devices is about 12 months. CARE products are expected to help millions of people around the world.[1]
