STS and Tekom jointly automate the production processes of the TV channel

2023: Switching to the Russian system to check the technical quality of media files

STS TV channel began using the automated ORBOX system from the Russian company Tekom to check the technical quality of media files. Previously, the companies have already implemented a number of joint projects to monitor video signals. This was announced on November 30, 2023 by representatives of Tekom.

The solution "Tekom is a completely domestic development and includes more than 70 tests to check the quality of audio, video and file metadata. ORBOX recognizes and normalizes volume problems, detects microplanes, comb and other video defects with high accuracy, and analyzes container and codec parameters.

The system allows you to check the technical quality of media files 4 times faster than the timing of video material.

Using ORBOX, the STS channel checks part of the media content that the channel broadcasts on OTT platforms.

"We noted the high performance of ORBOX in comparison with the foreign QC system used earlier at the STS," Timur Kulgarin, technical director of STS Media, shared his conclusions about the operation of the Tekom system.

In the future, STS plans to transfer more and more loads to ORBOX. To begin with, completely close the needs for receiving OTT content and, over time, transfer the system to check all television content.
