2023: Product Announcement

In early December 2023 startup Prophetic , he announced the development of a device called Halo for conscious dreams. It is assumed that the gadget will allow people to control their thoughts in a dream and use this time more productively. For example, designers will be able to generate ideas for new layouts, and programmers will be able to write code.

Conscious dreaming is a special state of consciousness in which a person understands that he sees sleep, and can manage its content to one degree or another. At the same time, as Prophetic notes, a person is freed from the usual laws of physics - gravity, conservation of energy and mass. Thus, conscious dreams can become an effective environment for performing all kinds of tasks.

In this state, the only limiting factor is your imagination. You can create and explore unusual environments, talk to dream characters and even fly, "Prophetic says.

The Halo gadget is a rim that fits over the head. The device directs focused ultrasound signals to a specific area of the brain. These impulses activate those departments that are responsible for making decisions and understanding what is happening. As a result, conscious dreams are formed: their potential lies not so much in solving specific problems as in finding new creative approaches to a particular task.

Within the framework of the project, the start-up Prophetic collaborates with the Donders Institute, a research center at the University of Nijmegen named after St. Radbod of Utrecht in the Netherlands. One of the tasks is to determine the optimal parameters of ultrasonic waves for the formation of conscious dreams. Halo is scheduled to start shipping in 2025: the device is expected to cost between $1,500 and $2,000.[1]
