2023: Product Announcement

In December 2023, Drone Solutions spoke about the creation of the Hornet and Stork drones, which will be used for ice wiring and marking icebergs on the Northern Sea Route.

The Hornet is a hybrid unmanned aerial vehicle of the multirotor type. As for the Stork, it is known to have a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). According to the developers, "Stork" is able to be in flight for up to five hours to perform ice wiring tasks.

In 2023, the Hornets have already participated in test flights. This was within the framework of the Arcteh accelerator, aimed at finding personnel and solutions that contribute to the development of the Arctic. And after this pilot project, it became obvious that it was necessary to increase the duration of the flight of the device, TASS was told in Drone Solutions.

The 11 L generator and fuel tank provided Hornets with about three hours of uninterrupted flight. But for effective work on the waters of the Northern Sea Route, this indicator must be increased, the company added. Sovcomflot plans to start testing the Hornet in 2024.

Drone Solutions was registered in 2018 and is developing UAVs for search, rescue and environmental tasks. One of its most recognizable products is the all-weather SeaDrone, which is also designed to operate in Arctic conditions.[1]
