2023: GOST-VPN launch

Selectel on December 14, 2023 announced the launch of GOST-VPN, a secure communication channel for transmitting data via the Internet using equipment certified by the FSB of Russia.

The service is relevant for state organizations, as well as companies that work with state customers and are obliged to protect communication channels in accordance with the requirements of the FSB of Russia and FSTEC of Russia. The service is in demand among customers who need to ensure the protection of the channel between the local infrastructure and Selectel.

The service allows a secure connection between the secure ViPNet Selectel network and the existing ViPNet client network. ViPNet Coordinator HW 4, developed by InfoTeCS, is a range of security gateways designed to build a secure ViPNet virtual network. Thanks to the functions of cryptographic data protection, firewall, as well as the presence of built-in network services, the ViPNet Coordinator HW 4 software and hardware complex is an optimal means of protecting computer networks of organizations from unauthorized access to its resources when transmitting information over open communication channels.

Hybrid infrastructure, when one part of it is located in its own data centers, and the other at the facilities of the service provider, is quite popular among large companies and government organizations, - said Denis Polyansky, director of client security at Selectel. - In such a scenario, it is critical that the link between the two sites has the required degree of protection.
