Earlier in 2023, Moscow airports, including Vnukovo, repeatedly announced restrictions on work due to drone attacks on the capital region. Restrictions, as a rule, were valid for several hours at night.

According to the general director of Yumirs (manufacturer of Radescan-Antidron complexes) Andrei Klyuev, airports cannot start purchases without a circular from the Federal Air Transport Agency confirming the compatibility of these complexes with the systems of the State Corporation for Air Traffic Control (a national air navigation provider in Russia).

According to Alexander Sevryukov, head of the accreditation department of transport security units of the Federal Air Transport Agency, it will still not be possible to protect airports with civilian equipment from all types of drones. The agency plans to write a terms of reference for the development of the complex necessary for airports, it will have to detect the drone in advance, and the impact will be carried out either by the operator or automatically, Sevryukov added.

Chairman of the Board of the Association of Small Aviation Enterprises Sergei Detenyshev believes that the fight against specialized military unmanned air systems (BVS), the purpose of which is the defeat of objects or reconnaissance (and not just hooligan actions), should be carried out by military air defense systems. In this case, it is necessary to divide the risks into civilian and military, the expert noted in a conversation with Izvestia[1]
