2023: Neural Network Launch

In December 2023, Sechenov University announced the creation of the first Russian neural network to analyze scientific publications. The tool, called Sechenov DataMed.AI, makes it easier to work with large amounts of data when preparing scientific articles.

The system allows not only to search for information from biomedical research databases, but also, for example, to select keywords from the query in the search and group the found publications by topics in the annotation texts. The neural network will help specialists, if necessary, to promptly process a large amount of data from various databases, improve the work on analyzing the experience of researchers and preparing scientific publications.

As Eduard Fartushny, deputy director of the Institute of Digital Medicine at Sechenov University, told Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Sechenov DataMed.AI helps to quickly extract the necessary data from biomedical literature, which, given the large volumes of such information and the high pace of its update, is very important. And

By mid-December 2023, the automated system is being tested by researcher doctors not only at Sechenovka, but also at other research medical centers, said Georgy Lebedev, director of the Institute of Digital Medicine at Sechenov University, head of the department of information and Internet technologies. By the end of December 2023, the neural network is being prepared for "industrial operation" in order to open access to a large number of specialists.

We are testing our automated knowledge and fact intelligence system in global repositories of biomedical texts with our research physicians. We have already received good reviews, went to our colleagues from other research medical centers to find out their opinion, "Lebedev said.[1]
