2023: Arrest in the case of embezzlement of 250 million rubles
On December 21, 2023, the Basmanny Court of Moscow authorized the arrest of Rinat Khanbikov, the former chairman of the board of directors of the Tatarstan-based Ammoniy JSC and the ex-general director of Gazprom Transgaz Kazan. He is a defendant in a criminal case on particularly large-scale fraud (part 4 of article 159) committed as part of an organized group using his official position.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, we are talking about the embezzlement of funds from Ammonium and its subsidiary Mendeleevskazot in the amount of more than 250 million rubles. The investigation believes that in the period from 2013 to 2018, by order of Khanbikov, 150.5 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate were sold at a reduced cost. The participants in the fraudulent scheme then resold these products at a market price, and appropriated the difference they received.
Khanbikov's lawyers, who left the post of chairman of the board of directors of Ammonium in 2018 and resigned as general director of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Kazan in 2020, proposed choosing a preventive measure for him in the form of house arrest or releasing him on bail in the amount of 10 million rubles. However, the court decided to arrest the suspect for two months - until February 19, 2024. The defense announced its intention to appeal this ruling.
In addition, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested for two months the director of the Mendeleevskazot company Firdis Abdrakhmanov. According to the investigation, the man also took part in the criminal scheme. Alla Kutsakova, general director of TTT LLC, was sent to the pre-trial detention center: this organization, according to the case file, was an intermediary in fraudulent transactions with fertilizer. At the same time, the court refused to arrest another defendant in the proceedings - the head of the sales department of Ammoniy JSC Zukhra Ziyatdinova - the investigation, sending the woman under house arrest.[1]
