A substation with a high voltage class of 220 kV was put into operation in the Lipetsk region

2023: Start-up of 220 kV substation

Branches of JSC SO UES ODU Center and Lipetsk RDU ensured the implementation of the project for the construction and commissioning of 220 kV substations (PS) in the power system of the Lipetsk region RP-3 with a total capacity of two 400 MVA autotransformers. PS 220 kV RP-3 with calls of OL 220 North - Metallurgical I and II circuit of the Branch of PJSC Rosseti - Verkhne-Donskoye PMES was built as part of the procedure for technological connection of energy receiving devices and facilities for the production of electric energy of PJSC NLMK.

The substation is equipped with switching and process equipment, microprocessor relay protection and automation terminals. At the 220 kV RP-3 substation, for the first time in the power system of the Lipetsk region, it is possible to implement remote control of equipment from the dispatching center of the Lipetsk RDU. The use of this digital technology will reduce the time for the production of operational switches and improve the quality of management of the electric power regime of the power system of the Lipetsk region.

During the project implementation, the specialists of ODC Center and Lipetsk RDU took part in the approval of the design and working documentation, checking the implementation of the main technical solutions. ODC of the Center and Lipetsk RDU performed calculations of electric power modes of the power system of the Lipetsk region, calculated values of short-circuit currents and settings (setpoints) of relay protection devices and automation for the formed new power lines and the adjacent network, developed comprehensive programs for testing the operating voltage and putting into operation new equipment and power lines, tested telemetry systems for collecting and transmitting information to Lipetsk RDU.
