2023: Opening of the centre

On October 16, 2023, the Presidential Sports and Recreation Complex was commissioned in the Magadan Region. The site is designed for organized and independent sports and recreation classes, as well as competitions at the local and regional levels in various sports.

The complex with a total area of ​ ​ about 20 thousand square meters consists of four blocks: this is an administrative building, an ice arena, a building for water sports with five pools, as well as a universal sports hall. There are zones for gymnasts, boxers and wrestlers, a gym, changing rooms, a hall for basketball and volleyball. At the same time, up to 300 athletes can be in the "Presidential."

Visitors to the complex will be able to play hockey, figure skating, swimming, martial arts and game sports. The site has created conditions for all categories of the population, including people with disabilities. For kids, there is an aquazone with pools for training and entertainment. Plus, a medical and restoration unit and a medical and physical clinic, a comfortable atrium for thematic events and cafes are available.

In accordance with the order of the Government of the Russian Federation of December 23, 2023, the Magadan Region will receive about 3 billion rubles as compensation for the construction of the presidential complex.

The facility is unique not only for our region, but also for the entire Far East. Taking into account the Kolyma climate, the sports complex receives a number of tasks. This is a healthy lifestyle, and the leisure of residents, and the involvement of young people in sports, and decent conditions for training our athletes, - said the Governor of the Magadan Region Sergei Nosov at the opening ceremony of the "Presidential."[1]
