The Russian company Systeme Electric has supplemented the offer of SystemePact M start-up control equipment with intelligent SystemePact MFS control and protection devices. The company announced this on December 27, 2023.

SystemePact MFS is a multifunctional device that combines the capabilities of a circuit breaker, contactor, overload relay and disconnector switch.

They provide complete coordination and forecasting of emergencies, have a disconnecting capacity of 50 kA, and are easily integrated into automation systems. The compact size (54 mm) saves up to 40% of the area in the control cabinet. The use of SystemePact MFS reduces the installation time of the equipment, since it does not require connecting power cables between the circuit breaker and the contactor.

Compared to traditional solutions, the SystemePact MFS series has numerous advantages to simplify the selection of system components.

Multifunctional MFS devices are presented at rated currents up to 63A. The control unit has a wide range of current setpoints. In the basic configuration, the devices come with an LCD display. Depending on the requirements of the application, it is possible to order an extended configuration with a communication module and additional protections. The Modbus-RTU protocol provides easy integration into automation systems, and the ability to configure a warning for thermal overload, allows you to know in advance about the engine entering overload mode and provide an emergency shutdown, thereby ensuring more efficient operation of the equipment and extending its service life. In this case, the risk of damage or improper functioning is excluded for SystemePact MFS starters - after an accident they can be immediately restarted.

SystemePact MFS perform various functions such as protection of low-voltage distribution networks, protection and control of single-phase and three-phase motors, system status monitoring, exchange data with a high-level control system. The devices can be used oil and gas industry in and, paper metallurgy mining and pulp production, in transport infrastructure facilities and in other areas.
