The Ruvento Foundation, founded in 2012, is based in Singapore. It invests in artificial intelligence, machine learning, bioengineering, transportation, the Internet of Things, additive manufacturing and other technologies. In addition to Ruvento, funds to develop Semaai were provided by CyberAgent Capital, Sumitomo Corporation Equity Asia, MyAsiaVC, Heracles Ventures and former investors such as Peak XV Surge, Accion Venture Lab and Beenext. In total, as of the beginning of January 2024, Semaai received $7.6 million.

Semaai said in a statement that the money will go towards expanding advisory services on agronomy, developing cooperation with fintech institutions and strengthening its presence in Central Java. More than 8,200 villages are located in this region, and by the end of 2024 Semaai expects to cover about 75% of these settlements.
