Wedding to a man

On January 11, 2023, it became known that the head of OpenAI Sam Altman tied the knot. He married a man - software engineer Oliver Mulherin.

According to Business Insider, the couple lives in San Francisco (California) and first appeared together in public in 2023, when the CEO of OpenAI invited Mulherin to dinner at the White House in honor of Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India. Other technology leaders, such as Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Apple CEO Tim Cook, were among the guests .

The fact that Altman and Mulherin played a wedding became known from the photos that appeared on the Internet. The pictures show that the wedding ceremony took place outdoors in a tropical place. The couple exchange rings and then hit a glass, a traditional Jewish wedding rite. The ceremony took place in a narrow circle: only about ten guests were captured in the photographs. A Business Insider source confirmed that the images made public "were not created by artificial intelligence." At the same time, nothing is known about the date and place of the wedding as of January 11, 2024.

Altman kept his relationship with Mulherin relatively private over the years. According to his LinkedIn profile, Mulherin, or "Ollie," as Altman calls him, worked for Meta for two years (recognized as an extremist organization; activities in the Russian Federation are prohibited) and studied computer science at the University of Melbourne. As a computer and software systems student, Mulherin worked on artificial intelligence projects related to language recognition and games. In September 2023, information appeared that the couple wants to have children.[1]
