2023: IT Infrastructure Localization
"Jet Infosystems" together with NJSC "Svetogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill" implemented a project to localize the IT infrastructure. This was reported to Jet Infosystems on January 23, 2024.
The pulp and paper industry generates more than 40% of the total gross added value of the timber industry in Russia. NJSC Svetogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill is one of the largest pulp and paper mills in Russia.
Previously, the company was part of an international paper and cardboard holding. Most IT systems and services were provided by the parent company. In connection with the restructuring, the Russian business asset has become an independent structure. As part of these changes, the customer faced a critical task - to switch to another IT infrastructure completely on the Russian technology stack and eliminate simple business during the migration period.
Jet Infosystems, together with the Information Technology Department of the Svetogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill, created a dedicated infrastructure based on the solutions of domestic vendors and carried out seamless migration in real-time mode of all applied services.
The risk of disconnecting the customer from the infrastructure of the global headquarters and losing access to critical services was extremely high. The Jet Infosystems team carried out a phased migration of the customer's productive systems to the created IT infrastructure as soon as possible. A large number of different technological solutions of domestic vendors were used on this project. The project can be called really difficult - the team required a non-standard technical approach when choosing solutions for all subsystems and, most importantly, a clear focus on the timing of their commissioning, "said Andrei Shaposhnikov, Deputy Director of the Jet Infosystems Technical Center. |
It was a very ambitious project that required maximum engagement, flexibility and creativity from all involved. Rapid decision-making in difficult conditions and readiness for change have become the key to the success of this project. The employees of Jet Infosystems demonstrated high professionalism and a responsible approach to fulfilling their tasks, as well as an excellent understanding of our needs. I would especially like to note the high level of expertise when developing a project implementation plan. The whole process was transparent and organized, which made it possible to maintain the uninterrupted operation of our company, - said Natalya Kivileva, head of the information technology department of the NPAO Svetogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill. |
