2024: Azot bought 51.25% of Volgograd Polymer

The Kemerovo Azot group bought a 51.25% stake in the authorized capital of Volgograd Polymer. The corresponding deal is the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia, which the press service of the regulator announced on January 24, 2024.

According to the FAS, the sale of a controlling stake in Volgograd Polymer to the Azot group will not lead to limited competition in the market for the production of chemical organic basic substances.

Azot will also gain control over Industrial Technologies LLC (Promtech), in which it owns 5% since August 2023, and Volgograd Polymer - 95%.

Volgograd Polymer LLC is the parent company of the project for the construction of a methanol plant with a capacity of 1 million tons per year in Volgograd, the project is being implemented by AEON Trotsenko holding. The plant will be created on the territory of the Khimprom special economic zone (SEZ), will be the first stage of the project to organize a large-scale production complex for the production of complex plastics, polymer components and acrylates on the territory of the SEZ.

In addition, Volgograd Polymer is the parent company for a number of legal entities created for specific projects within the framework of the chemical cluster in Volgograd. The management company of the entire chemical cluster is G T Em 1 (GTM One).^[1]
