2023: Moving the data center to the UAZ site

PROF-IT GROUP, as a technological partner, implemented a project to migrate the data center of the SOLLERS group to the site of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. Prof-IT Group announced this on January 24, 2024.

The reason for building a new data center was the need of SOLLERS for new server capacities due to the expansion of the business, an increase in the level of automation and - import substitution IT landschaft.

At the start of the project, the group's computing infrastructure was located on the leased territory. The combined team of the SOLLERS group, including UAZ, and the PROF-IT GROUP system integrator was faced with the task of migrating equipment with full preservation of all available functionality and without the risks of enterprise downtime. As a result of the project implementation, the company's main computer system was transferred to the new site within the planned time frame and with the specified parameters.

In close cooperation with the IT service of the plant, a plan was drawn up for the modernization of the site to ensure the placement of the required amount of equipment on the territory of the UAZ. First of all, the area of ​ ​ the room was increased with the possibility of arranging more servers and subsequent scaling. A large amount of construction work was also carried out in accordance with GOST, which is applied to the organization of the operation of the engineering infrastructure of the data center. To improve fault tolerance, the existing corporate data network was rebuilt.

The created DPC site is equipped with engineering systems: an automatic gas fire extinguishing system, a security alarm system, a video surveillance system and MCDS, an air conditioning and environmental monitoring system. A high-speed structured cable system has been installed throughout the plant, which ensures fault-tolerant network operation in the company's workshops. An uninterrupted power supply network for all elements of the updated infrastructure was also designed and organized.

The transfer of the data center went in stages according to the migration schedule of equipment and services. The final acceptance and commissioning were carried out in October 2023. The servers were moved without stopping the business processes in accordance with the seamless migration model. The system is highly reliable, which ensures the quality and uninterrupted operation of equipment and all key IT systems of the enterprise.

The migration of the IT infrastructure of SOLLERS to the territory of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant was completed successfully. With the general project team, we moved the data center to our own plant site and abandoned the leased premises, which ultimately allowed the company to reduce operating costs and optimize IT costs, - said Evgeny Sudarkin, General Director of PROF-IT GROUP.

The UAZ data center created, which has become an element of scaling the SOLLERS infrastructure, will allow, together with the data center in Yelabuga, to develop a cluster of highly loaded digital IT solutions of a group of enterprises. The enhanced data center infrastructure ensures business uptime and continuity, reduces productivity costs, reallocates resources to improve key components, and accelerates future scaling.
