Biography

2024: Death

On January 19, 2024, the founder and CEO of Vistex technology company Sanjay Shah died after falling from a height of about 6 meters at a corporate event. The tragedy took place at the site of Ramoji Film City studio in Hyderabad in southern India.

The corporate party was held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Vistex. Shah and company president Vishwanath Raju Datla descended to the stage in a basket resembling a balloon gondola. At one point, the cable broke and the men fell onto the court. The victims were urgently taken to hospital. Shah, despite the best efforts of doctors, died from his injuries. Datla is in critical condition as of January 20, 2024.

The local police opened a case against the organizers of the event under several articles: causing death by negligence, creating a threat to human life or personal safety, as well as careless attitude towards technical equipment. The management of Ramoji Film City and others responsible for the security of the event will be held accountable.

Founded in 1999, Vistex specializes in software development, particularly enterprise resource planning solutions. Under Shah's leadership, the firm has seen significant growth and made strides in the global market. As of January 2024, Vistex has about 20 locations worldwide, and the total workforce exceeds 2,000 employees. Shah also founded the Vistex Foundation, which provides grants to non-profit organizations dedicated to health, education and meeting the basic needs of the population. In turn, Datla has been working at Vistex since 2000: he also made a significant contribution to the development of the company.[1]
