2024: Product Announcement
In late January 2024, Boston Scientific announced the VersaVue video device designed to diagnose bladder and urethral diseases. This cystoscope includes a tablet for high-quality imaging of medical data.
Cystoscopy is performed using an endoscope that is injected through the urethra. This method serves as an auxiliary in the recognition of certain renal diseases. The VersaVue system with a flexible disposable cystoscope allows imaging of the lining of the bladder and urethra. High-definition images and videos are displayed on a portable tablet equipped with a 14-inch display. This does not require the use of an additional monitor or stationary equipment.
Boston Scientific says the compact and lightweight VersaVue system optimizes workflow by eliminating the time it takes to process, repair and maintain reusable endoscopes. A disposable cystoscope supplied in sterile packaging can help eliminate the risk of infection due to cross-contamination and reduce waiting times for patients.
The developer, in particular, notes that the VersaVue flexible cystoscope allows you to reduce the number of post-procedural infections, such as urinary tract infections, that can occur due to improper processing of reusable diagnostic tools. In addition, with VersaVue, healthcare professionals can speed up patient care by eliminating the need to sterilize endoscopes. The production of disposable cystoscopes is carried out by Medimaging Integrated Solution, and they are distributed under distribution agreements.[1]
