2024: Ecto Holding bought Premio Crumb

On January 29, 2024, it became known that the structure of the Ecto holding, owned by Yusuf Alekperov, the son of the main shareholder of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov, acquired Premio Crumb. There is no information on the value of the transaction as of the specified date.

Premio Crumb, a company registered in the Leningrad Region, is engaged in the processing of worn tires into rubber crumbs. This material is then used in road construction, in the laying of sports surfaces, for the production of rubber tiles, etc. In addition, the company provides services for laying rubber coatings on children's and sports grounds, as well as supplies colored EPDM granulate to the Russian market. It is alleged that Premio Crumb is one of the leading players in the tire disposal market in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The owner and CEO of the company is Maxim Efimenko.

According to the Kommersant newspaper, a 100 percent stake in Premio Crumb LLC is acquired by Western Petroleum Transportation JSC (WPT), which is part of Ecto. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia believes that this transaction will not lead to restriction of competition in the market for processing rubber waste into secondary raw materials.

The head of Infoline Analytics, Mikhail Burmistrov, believes that Ecto's interest in Premio Crumb LLC is explained by the company's technology for processing tires and producing competitive products. Subsequently, this business can be scaled to other regions of the Russian Federation. Ecto also includes the Lucavto car dealer, the Plan B power producer and the ValleyTech oilfield service company. In addition, in 2022, the Aquabus company was created (Ecto's share is 99%, the rest is with Konstantin Sanin), the profile of which is the construction of pleasure and sports vessels.[1]
