Museum of history of phone
The telecom operator in Moscow and St. Petersburg the Mastertel company held a ceremony of opening of the largest in Russia and Europe of the Museum of history of phone in November, 2010. The collector and the CEO of Mastertel Ltd Vitaly Ezopov cut a symbolical red ribbon in honor of the first excursion. Guests among whom there was an author of the book "Phone" Vladimir Krasik, the expert in the field of telecommunications and the representative of Polytechnical Museum Sergey Delibash and also journalists for profile and public editions and TV of Moscow and St. Petersburg became the first listeners of a lecture of the guide, the expert in the telecommunication Goldayevskoy Valentina Ivanovna area.
Guests of evening could see more than 500 exhibits personally. In the museum phones of most global manufacturers of 1876 — 1970 of release are widely presented. The collection of rare telephone sets of the Russian companies is also exposed. Special attention of guests was caused by the story by V. Ezopov about phone of Ericsson company of 1895, become the business card of the company under the name "Spider" and also the original model of Siemens of 1887 used at the same time as the microphone and the listener. During the informal discussion after the excursion attendees agreed in opinion that creation of the similar museum – as a specific example of a socially oriented initiative of representatives of business community of Russia – very perspective and useful idea. "This museum allows to compare dynamics of development of phone throughout centuries, - Vladimir Krasik, the author of the book "Phone" comments on Vitaly Ezopov's initiative. - Exposure shows an integral picture of history of communication, focusing attention on characters and the countries that helps formation of global idea of telecommunication history".
Main goal of the museum — preserving of priceless world heritage in the field of telephone communication, fixing of change of technical eras, from wall wooden phones to minicomputers with function of telephone communication. Involuntarily such collection impresses and reminds that smartphones were not always that earlier to hear other person at distance, it was necessary literally physically "to reach" it. The museum clearly demonstrates that telecommunications with what we know them now are result of long and laborious work of the whole group of world inventors, among which both domestic, and foreign scientists: Golubitsky P.M., Yablochkov P. N, Popov A. S., Bell A.G., Tesla N., Edison T., Morse S., Marconi G., Meucci A. and many others.
In 2011 historical exposure will be placed in St. Petersburg. According to actively gaining steam a trend on a design of exhibition spaces in premises of high-tech style Mastertel will locate the collection in the modern building of the historic center of the city. The museum will open nearby Smolny Cathedral and the Museum of Water. An input to the building and movement on halls will be readily available to physically disabled people, special ladders and elevators are provided.
The historical exposure placed within the walls of a new system is intended to emphasize attention on technical evolution of means of communication, to show a retrospective of social communication in general. Mastertel is going to fill up a collection with exhibits from all five continents and to expand it to world scales.
