Dixie boosts store turnover with GoodsForecast. GoodsForecast announced this on February 6, 2024.
The retail network is undergoing advanced piloting of the system to ensure the availability of goods on the shelf. The decision to launch the project was made following the results of the first pilot testing on a sample of 100 stores: then the increase in retail turnover was 1.31%.
A pilot project to use the GoodsForecast.OSA solution is carried out in the A/B testing format with the participation of half of the chain's stores. In the spring, after the completion of the project, it is planned to again measure the results and assess the potential for launching the solution to other stores.
The implemented solution is based on machine learning models. During the day, at a specified frequency, the system receives check data, allocates periods without sales, and determines for each item how much the indicators correspond to the usual demand for a particular product in a given store. In case of deviations, the system generates a signal-task for the employee to check the goods in the hall. The staff checks the availability, price tag, expiration date, availability and quality of the goods and, if a problem is identified, takes corrective measures. At the same time, the system takes into account the limitations of stores in resources and assesses the potential and priority of signals, issuing only those that can give a greater increase in turnover.
The design of the experiment was developed on the Dixie side. The network is undergoing a large-scale transformation of operational processes, including those related to customer service in trading floors. In particular, approaches and tools began to be introduced that make it possible to timely eliminate display defects and ensure the availability of goods on the shelves. The GoodsForecast team was also invited to participate in this transformation, since the company has accumulated expertise, developed practices and has a mature solution for OSA tasks.
Ensuring the availability of goods, we can improve not only retail turnover, but also a number of other indicators. Customer satisfaction, responsiveness and service quality, lower storage costs, and faster cash flows.
