After the verdict was announced, Stoilos was taken into custody in the courtroom, handcuffed.

According to the Vedomosti newspaper, in the sports club Stoilos served as deputy head for the operation and development of sports facilities, and was also chairman of the unified procurement commission. The man was detained as part of a criminal investigation in 2022. It was said that in exchange for bribes, such conditions were created during tenders that tenders for servicing boiler houses, cleaning and a number of other services were constantly won by the same company.

After the arrest, Stoilos became ill when he was taken to a temporary detention center. The prisoner's pressure jumped and the staff called an ambulance for him. The trial essentially lasted from November 2022. Prior to the announcement of the verdict, 69-year-old Stoilos was under recognizance not to leave.

Judge Anna Kozlova found Stoilos guilty of five episodes of receiving bribes on a large scale (part 5 of article 290 of the Criminal Code) and three episodes of especially large bribes (part 6 of the same article). The defendant was also fined 14 million rubles. In addition, he is prohibited for 7 years after serving his sentence to hold administrative positions in government agencies. Stoilos himself pleaded not guilty during the preliminary investigation or at the trial.
