2024: Construction of a plant for the production of suture material and needles for surgery for 0.5 billion rubles

A plant for the production of suture material and needles for surgery is being built in the Moscow region. We are talking about the project of the company "Integral Medical," which will invest more than 0.5 billion rubles in it. The press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region announced this on February 7, 2024.

The enterprise in Podolsk will organize the production of surgical suture material used in surgical interventions to connect tissues and stop bleeding. The area of ​ ​ the plant will be 4.3 thousand square meters. m. By mid-February 2024, the installation of sterile premises is being completed there, preparations for commissioning are underway. The launch of the plant is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024, said Ekaterina Zinovieva, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region.

It is emphasized that all workshops for the production of surgical suture material, in accordance with the requirements, will be equipped in clean rooms. The company plans to launch an import-substituting production of innovative suture material in the Moscow region, with the use of which complete regeneration of the seams will take place. To produce this material, the company will launch a high-tech automated line.

The production is designed to fill the shortage of sterile sutures that arose on the Russian market after the departure of European manufacturers, said Arthur Siliverstov, general director of Integral Medical. He added that the company also plans to establish the production of a line of surgical needles from domestic raw materials.

After reaching full capacity, the company will be able to produce more than 10 million sterile threads and needles annually. The products will be supplied to medical institutions throughout Russia, and in the future it is also planned to establish exports to other countries.^[1]
