Synctum is a Russian educational service launched in March 2022. It is a marketplace where each person can place educational courses. The platform earns on commission from sales. First, it is 19.9%, and then, as the service is used, it decreases for content authors. The minimum commission of 5.9% is achieved after the author's sales increase to more than 15 million rubles.
The founder of Synctum is the former head of digital products at the Invitro medical company and the ex-head of digital product creation at the Ancor recruiting company Dmitry Vasin.
History
2024: Attracting 25 million rubles of investments
At the end of February 2024, it became known about the investment of 25 million rubles in Synctum. Aditim, a multidisciplinary holding from the Russian Federation (produces chemical raw materials, fire-fighting materials, is engaged in the transportation of international goods), has invested in the Russian edtech startup. Financial and other parameters of the investment transaction were not disclosed.
The Synctum team intends to spend the funds raised on testing hypotheses in the corporate segment, expanding the team and introducing new functions, an Aditim representative told Forbes magazine.
The publication also writes that Synctum is going to change its business focus towards the corporate sector. By February 2024, the startup is engaged in the creation of a finished product that will help companies create their own online schools or internal educational platforms for training employees so that businesses can optimize the process of attracting, retaining and developing personnel.
