2024: Moving to PostgreSQL and Linux

The company RDV carried out a migration project: 1C ERP PX for PostgreSQL and for Linux the group of companies. PeWeTe RDV announced this on February 22, 2024.

The system is critical for business, so in mid-2022, after stopping sales and supporting Microsoft products on the Russian market, in order to continue stable operation, it was decided to transfer the 1C:ERP Holding Management system to Linux and PostgreSQL within a few months.

In two months, the RDV team was able to migrate to 1C:ERP Holding Management on Linux and PostgreSQL. The transition was almost invisible to users because it was carried out in the conditions of continuous company activity. The transfer of the system to another OS and DBMS did not violate the performance and functionality of the systems. The system ensures that there are no locks while closing accounting periods by all legal entities. In addition, the customer has acquired new competencies for working with this software within the company.

The transition to Linux minimized all possible risks associated with foreign software, and allowed the company to continue stable operation without losing quality and convenience for users.
