Readers of the multiCLASS Magnetic Stripe Readers series are capable to identify access cards of different types. New products support the data transfer protocols Wiegand and Clock-and-data and provide access control on contactless smart cards with a carrier frequency of 125 kHz and/or 13.56 MHz, on magnetic stripe cards and also on the PIN code. These smart readers can be operated in street conditions in the temperature range from-35 to +65 a hail. With and to be powered from a DC power source with tension of 5-16 V.
Each reader multiCLASS consists of two parts: the fixing basis with the integral unit of reading of the code of magnetic cards and the reader of contactless smart cards and a plastic cover with electronics supplied with the dial keyboard or without it. If necessary, turning a back plate, it is possible to install the magnetic card reader on the right or to the left of the RFID reader. When at the enterprise need of use of magnetic cards of access disappears, the back plate with the magnetic reader can be replaced with normal without magnetic head. Thus, these smart readers will function as the HID device without magnetic blocks, without requiring additional reconfiguration.
All readers of the multiCLASS series can work with identifiers of the Mifare/Desfare and iClass standard of any type, whether it be the card, the charms or tags using the carrier frequency of 13.56 MHz. Thanks to application of a special algorithm of data exchange, a smart card and the reader devices Mifare/Desfare and iClass provide the raised security level of data transmission and all manual operating systems of access control. During the work with RFID cards, smart readers exchange with them programmable keys at which coincidence the card tells to the reader the access code that reduces, in particular, risk of duplication of cards.
Identification of magnetic stripe cards is provided by a removable magnetic head assembly. The multifunction smart readers HID work with magnetic cards which identification code registers in 1 or 2 bands, and will surely recognize the wires of a card from 25 to 125 cm given at a speed / page. For increase in security of a control and management system for access, after completion of transition to smart technologies of identification of users, it is necessary to replace the fixing basis with the built-in vertical reader of a magnetic band with the standard fixing basis.
Additional benefit of RMPK40 and RMP40 smart models is the possibility of contactless reading of the identification code from Proximity standard access cards which work on RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification Technology) of HID company. This technology provides reading of the access code of any Proximity-card from long the code to 85 bits at a frequency of 125 kHz. At the same time the smart readers multiCLASS work using the secret 48-bit key entered at their programming, and built in RMPK40/RMP40 crypto - the processor implements special encryption algorithms for protection of the access code and data of the card during their transfer.
Due to support of different technologies of identification, including the magnetic stripe cards and contactless smart cards working at frequency of 13.56 MHz or 125 kHz, new readers of the multiCLASS Magnetic Stripe Readers series are the universal platform for expansion and/or upgrade of the existing access control system from contact in contactless, without stopping work of all system. The smart readers RMK40 and RMPK40 of a new series which have the dial keyboard for implementation of identification of users according to the card and the PIN code allow to ensure the highest safety of access point.
The range of the RFID equipment of HID Global company for control and management systems for access was filled up in the summer of 2014 by readers of new generation multiCLASS SE which are compatible to the identification devices using the cryptography technique of data of SIO (Secure Identity Object) with the digital signature and protection against cloning. Besides, each reader of this series can work with traditional identifiers of the standards iClass/SE, Mifare, DESFire, etc., and the distance of acceptance of the code of RFID cards makes from 65 to 90 mm depending on model. New products are calculated for operation in premises or on the street at temperatures up to -35 °C, support intellectual energy management and bidirectional coupling with the ACS controller under the OSDP protocol. A series of the reader devices HID multiCLASS SE includes five modifications — RP10, RP15, RP30, RP40 and RPK40 which differ among themselves with a form factor, and RPK40 models have the keyboard for additional identification of users by the code. Each reader of a new line supports contactless identification at a frequency of 13.56 MHz, using such technologies as iCLASS Seos, iCLASS SE, standard iCLASS, MIFARE and MIFARE DESFire EV1 and also works in the range of 125 kHz for recognition of a proksimita of cards and tags of Prox, Indala, AWID and EM4102. The lack of a tough binding to any technology of identification does new readers by a versatile tool of a control system of access.
Competitive advantage of multiCLASS SE is the increased data protection using SIO (Secure Identity Object) thanks to which the reader can perform identification of users not only on smart cards with SIO (similarly classical control systems of access), but also by the mobile phone with the NFC chip (Near Field Communication) in which SIO is in advance registered. Due to application the SIO readers multiCLASS SE considerably increase the level of protection of access point and technological effectiveness of a system as SIO becomes attached directly to the unique code of the information medium that excludes a possibility of cloning of the code, and in addition certifies all data the digital signature.
The high-strength plastic body of new devices is manufactured of UL94 polycarbonate in spirit color options — black and gray. It has extent of heat/moisture protection of IP55 and reliably protects a device payment. Besides, any contactless reader HID of a new series can be mounted in the standard boxes used in Russia, the USA, Europe, Asia or South America and excludes possible problems when installing this equipment on an object. It is important to note that all readers multiCLASS SE have the mode of intellectual energy management in which energy costs decrease to 40%, in comparison with a standard mode.
The possibility of bidirectional coupling of multiCLASS SE with the controller is implemented optionally using the OSDP protocol (Open Supervised Device Protocol), the being open standard. Thanks to bilateral data exchange the control system of access is capable to control constantly each reader of a system, and at the organization of the network ACS with the central server their interaction will be performed in real time. At the same time visually it is possible to estimate operability of each reader on the sense lights which are built in the body that provides additional convenience of their service and operation.
