2024: Digitalization of transport document management
Transneft-Logistics digitalized the transport document flow using the capabilities of the DropCat logistics service. Ediweb (Edisoft) was previously announced by Edisoft on March 11, 2024.
The joint project of Transneft-Logistics and DropCat began back in 2020, when the Ministry of Transport of Russia launched an experiment to test an electronic bill of lading (ETrN) and an electronic waybill (EPL) in road freight.
In 2022, Transneft-Logistics entered the active stage of work with DropCat. The company began to use the service to digitalize transport documents in several areas.
In electronic form, Transneft-Logistics exchanged with its counterparties forwarding documents, contracts, assignments for shipment from warehouses of responsible storage.
In August 2022, Transneft-Logistics issued the first productive electronic waybill through DropCat. In 2023, the planned scaling of work in electronic transportation documents began. Carriers and freight forwarders interacting with Transneft-Logistics registered with DropCat, after which they were able to work with ETrN and other transport documents.
About 20 cargo carriers were transferred to this format. The volume of transferred documents in the first months amounted to about 10 thousand units. Both Transneft-Logistics employees and freight forwarders work in the web interface of the DropCat logistics service. A special mobile application has been released for drivers.
This format of work showed the effectiveness of digitalization of consignment notes and accompanying documents. In addition to ETrN, more than 90% of forwarding documents are now formed in electronic form.
