2024: Development of a robotic complex control system
MTUSI is developing a system for controlling a robotic complex. The university announced this on March 25, 2024.
Robotization of industrial production has become one of the key factors in increasing productivity and competitiveness of enterprises. This also applies to furniture production on any scale. One of the main tasks at such enterprises is the sorting and movement of furniture blanks in automatic mode using new technologies and robotic manipulators.
Research in this area is actively engaged in both serious research organizations and industrial robot development companies. At MTUSI, the Department of Intelligent Systems in Control and Automation is designing a control system for a robotic complex for sorting and moving blanks in furniture production.
The main functions of the software and hardware complex (PAC) are related to the capture by means of vision means of a video stream that fixes a pallet with kitchen set blanks, detection and identification of furniture parts, as well as determining the geometric dimensions of the identified part. The PAC is able to determine the position of the part in space relative to the surface of the pallet and transmit information about its coordinates to the control system of the robot manipulator.
The hardware of the robotic complex includes industrial robots KUKA KR 4 R600 и KUKA SCARA KR 6, Intel of the Realsense d435 stereo camera, conveyor, PLC, Siemens HMI KTP700 Basic, laptop furniture parts. The furniture recognition module includes a program for detecting and identifying furniture parts based on neural the YOLO network.
The control system interconnects all components of the software system and provides call-up and actuation of functional elements of the hardware. A robotic complex is a complex and expensive system that requires long-term preliminary programming of each stage of the technological process life cycle. Taking into account the high cost and inaccessibility, the PAC prototype is being developed on the laboratory equipment of the Center for Robotics of the MTUSI, - said Lilia Voronova, MD, Professor, Head of the Department of Intelligent Systems in Management and Automation, MTUSI. |
According to experts, the rate of penetration of robots of completely different types, both industrial and service, into all industries national economies is growing every year, so MTUSI will continue to contribute to the development of the robotic industry. countries
