1997-2011

Elena Yagodkina began her career in the customs authorities in 1997. In the period from 1997 to 2011. replaced several positions - from inspector of the customs payments department of the Novosibirsk customs to deputy head of the department - head of the Federal Customs Revenue Service of the Central Customs Administration of the FCS of Russia.

2019

In September 2019, she was appointed deputy head of the Federal Customs Service.

2024: Detention in a corruption case

On March 26, 2024, it became known about the detention of the deputy head of the FCS of Russia, Colonel-General of the Customs Service Elena Yagodkina. She is suspected of corruption.

According to RBC, citing a law enforcement source, the investigation had complaints about working with commodity nomenclature codes from 2011 to 2019, when Yagodkina worked in the main department of federal customs revenues and tariff regulation of the FCS.

These codes have any product, the codes of some goods are difficult to determine unequivocally, and there are "forks" for customs payments - for one group of goods the payment is 5%, for another - 15%, and a corruption component arises in this moment, - said the interlocutor.

According to him, in this case there are several episodes related to technological equipment. According to an Interfax source, Yagodkina was detained on the morning of March 26, 2024 after a meeting at the FCS in her office, which was also searched. The official was taken for interrogation. The detention took place after a meeting of the Standing Commission on the collection and administration of customs and other payments, clarifies the Telegram channel "112."^[1]
