2024: Corporate Electronic Document Management System Testing
The IBS Group conducted load testing of the corporate electronic document management information system at OOO LUKOIL Technologies. The work was necessary to build the process of optimizing the performance of the complex and localizing bottlenecks. IBS announced this on April 3, 2024.
The implemented document management system at the enterprise was put into commercial operation in early 2023. The plans were to increase the number of users by 50% and expand the functionality of the software. The specialists of the IBS group testing center were faced with the task of building Quality Gate to determine the bottlenecks of the system that affect the stability of its operation.
IBS specialists created a load testing infrastructure and implemented it in the release cycle of the system: they developed test methods, determined the load profile, prepared scripts, test data sets and assembled a general solution for launching a full profile. After testing, recommendations were formed to avoid degradation of the system and optimize its performance in the future.
In the project, we implemented an authorization system with the transfer of tickets between requests. About 130 tickets for each of the 15 scripts in the test were manually correlated. In addition, the difficulty in developing scripts consisted in frequent system updates, which required regular updating of the code. However, we managed to overcome this complexity and ensure the stable operation of load testing tools. Developers will now be able to more effectively identify bottlenecks in the code, increasing the performance of a highly loaded and critical system, and testing performance before the release of each release will remove a number of risks to the business. At the moment, the IBS team continues to work on load testing as part of the release cycle of the system and implements best practices in other customer teams, helping to build a culture of performance testing, "said IBS Project Director Diana Nepokoichitskaya. |
