2024: Translation to Russian IT solution

Rosmorport has transferred the Makhachkala ship traffic control system (VCS) to Russian IT solutions. The press service of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise announced this in early April 2024.

The information processing, display and recording system (SOORI) of the Makhachkala SHIP is a specialized software and hardware complex designed to perform such functions of the ship traffic control service as information support for shipping, organization of ship traffic and assistance in navigation. The system is used for:

  • control of technical means (sensors), which are part of VVS "Makhachkala";
  • for displaying electronic navigation charts, radar information;
  • displaying and tracking of SARP targets;
  • development of alarms and warnings about the occurrence of hazardous situations;
  • predicting the movement of targets;
  • exchange of messages with vessels equipped with transponders of the automated information system;
  • archiving and reproduction of navigation situation data.

The transfer of the Makhachkala Court of Justice to domestic software and equipment was carried out within the framework of the decree of the President of the Russian Federation "On measures to ensure the technological independence and security of the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation," the press service of FSUE Rosmorport noted. At the same time, it is not specified which Russian IT solutions were involved in the system.

Earlier, Rosmorport also transferred to the domestic PO Arkhangelsk and SUDS Sochi. In the future, Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosmorport plans to re-equip all VMS under the economic jurisdiction of the enterprise. The amount of expenses for the implementation of these projects by the beginning of April 2024 was not disclosed.[1]
