2024: Product Announcement

On April 5, 2024, it became known that Russian specialists from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) developed an unmanned aerial vehicle called Albatross for monitoring and relaying signals. The drone is capable of being in the air for up to three hours.

The project, according to RIA Novosti, was told in the press service of the National Technological Initiative (NTI). The drone is of the aircraft type. It is driven by an electric motor and powered by a battery pack. It is claimed that on a single charge, the device is capable of covering a distance of up to 300 km. The maximum takeoff weight is 5 kg, the payload weight is 2 kg. The developers claim that the drone's energy efficiency is approximately 20% higher compared to its counterparts.

The drone will have to solve the problem of signal relay, which is relevant for the agricultural and energy industries. In addition, it is able to monitor various territories, for example, identify violations of the borders of any objects or track the appearance of suspicious objects. When creating the device, the developers paid special attention to its aerodynamic characteristics to improve flight properties. In particular, the drone uses airflows to ensure maximum energy efficiency.

Deliveries of the Albatross drone begin in the fall of 2024. The cost of the device with a signal relay module is declared at the level of 150 thousand rubles.[1]
