According to the press service of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia, which has already agreed on the petition of Umami Catering LLC to acquire 50% shares in the authorized capital of Keyteringaviaggroup LLC, the companies have entered into transactions to create a joint venture in the field of production and sale of on-board meals at the airports of the Novaport group.

The FAS added that this merger will not lead to a restriction of competition in the aviation catering services market. The financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed by April 9, 2024.

The deal between Umami Catering and Catering Group became known a few days after Pobeda Airlines announced plans to launch a service for selling snacks and drinks for passengers on board the plane. According to the general director of the carrier Dmitry Tyschuk, there will be a limited range of food on board, which will have a minimal impact on weight and will not complicate cabin cleaning. Tyshchuk clarified that we are talking about long-term packaged meals - about drinks and a snack for a snack.[1]
